April 5th, 2022. We sold the big boat. It served its purpose as it gave us a place to live whilst we built the new house. Alas, it is now in the hands of an owner with time and inclination to use it well. My Wellcraft is happy as it will be easier for her to exit her boathouse!
After the hurricane when we decided to build a new house, we first looked for a trailer as we needed to live on the property because we pulled a homeowner permit. Oh, and we wanted to be “trailer trash”. We could not fit a trailer on the property as the lot is too small, so we looked for a houseboat. With a houseboat we could become “boat trash”. We ended up with a trawler, technically since it was 13 meters it is considered a yacht. We elevated to “yacht trash”. We, and the kitties, lived aboard for 15 months whilst we built the house.
Alas, with the passing of the boat we leave the heady realms of “yacht trash” and revert back to the rednecks that we were…
Goodbye Boardroom, you served us well and we, and the cats, enjoyed your comforts. I wish you fair winds and following seas….
