This is my special kitty. I call him little man, but we used to have a Mr Man. The reason he is special is he was born with bad bends in his rear limbs from not having enough room in his mothers womb. To top that off, he did not know what cat boobs were for, he would not nurse. Momma kitty kicked him to the corner of the bed and all he did was cry all the time. We took all three in the litter to our vet and she told us he was probably going to die. But, we had just fed a rescue litter, so Carla and I decided to try to save him.
He had a lot of neurological issues and every week he and his siblings would be taken to UF to see the cat doctors. We exercised their limbs with 15 minutes of cat stretches’ for 15 minutes, three times a dat and put little kitty casts on them to fix the flex in the rear limbs. I can’t tell you how excited we were when he figured out what boobs were for at about 4 weeks old! We fed him, nurtured him and he turned into a special boy.
He is still special, as in not quite all there. For example, we give the cats treats. The two other cats happily eat their treats, he looks at his and then look at us. He smells them and then looks at us like, “what are these for again?”. So, we put one in his mouth and he bites it and is like, “oh, there for eating!” and promptly eats the rest of the treats. He is 5 years old and this still happens every day.
He likes to cuddle with me on the couch and watch tv. He loved living on the boat and his favorite song is “the boys are back in town”. If I sing that song, no matter where he is or what he is doing he runs to me and jumps in my lap.
He is not the brightest.. He bites really hard sometimes and has drawn blood. He is a bottle baby, but he is my special boy. He goes by Little Man, Runt-a-licious, Baby Kitty and a host of other names. He still limps some, but he is a good boy, iffin he is a little slow on the uptake.
