Lent Et Douloureux, Slow and Painful. This is a collaboration we call Satie with Friends.
In Jacksonville, Florida I recorded a backing piece by playing bass and impossible pianos. Impossible pianos are patches that I create that cannot exist in the real world, they are layers of 12-meter grand pianos and Fender Rhodes samples bounced off the Grand Canyon and filtered through the Martian atmosphere with added synths behind.
I sent my tracks to my friend Ken Soper along with a lead sheet of the melody. He went into his home studio and used his massive, wonderful Moog equipment to create the lead track. He sent it back to me and I mixed into what you hear above.
